IT Business Analyst (1-Year Contract)
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of internal business functions, particularly within the financial industry, and will be adept at managing stakeholders at all levels.
What you'll do:
As an IT Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business operational needs and IT development resources. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include facilitating workshops with stakeholders, managing stakeholder engagement, delivering process improvements, and documenting business requirements in an Agile environment.You will also use your business knowledge to test development work proactively, estimate timelines accurately, collaborate on test scope determination, and write structured test plans. Your ability to execute tasks effectively while meeting deadlines will be crucial in this role.
- Manage and engage stakeholders including developers and business users
- Analyse root causes and determine remediation steps
- Document business requirements efficiently for Agile development
- Conduct workshops with stakeholders to draw out requirements
- Estimate time required for gathering business requirements
- Collaborate with stakeholders, developers, and business representatives on testing
- Write structured test plans, execute them through to completion, and write simple user guides/documentation
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this IT Business Analyst role brings a wealth of experience from similar roles over at least six years. You have been involved in end-to-end projects before and have a deep understanding of internal business functions.Your experience in the financial industry has given you an understanding of unit trust and listed issuer requirements. Your excellent communication skills complement your intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word, Visio, and PL/SQL. You are organised, have strong problem-solving skills, pay attention to detail, and can prioritise work effectively.
- Minimum of 6+ years in a similar role
- Previous experience on end-to-end projects
- Strong understanding of internal business functions
- Experience in the financial industry is a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word, Visio, and PL/SQL
- Organisational and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail
