Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CIMA are preferred.
- 4–6 years of experience in a finance role, preferably within the travel, tourism, or hospitality industry.
- Solid understanding of Malaysian financial regulations and tax laws.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., SQL, Xero, QuickBooks).
- Excellent communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Additional language is preferred.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with strong accuracy in financial reporting and reconciliation.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management.
- Strategic mindset with a passion for financial excellence and continuous improvement.
- Oversee and manage day-to-day financial operations including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and reconciliations.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements.
- Monitor cash flow, banking activities, and company finances to ensure sufficient liquidity.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with departmental heads.
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, financial standards, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Coordinate and liaise with auditors, tax agents, and government authorities for audit and compliance matters.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance against budgets.
- Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business planning and decision-making.
- Assist in cost analysis and margin improvement strategies for travel products and services.
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and ensure data integrity in accounting systems.
- Support financial due diligence for business expansion or partnership opportunities.
- Train and mentor junior finance staff to ensure continuous development and efficiency.
- Stay updated on financial best practices, industry trends, and regulatory changes affecting the travel sector.
